Mariam Al Hosani never waited for someone to teach her the things she was curious about. She picked up colors, experimented, and learned with every stroke. What started as a childhood passion evolved into a creative journey, from her first small business in eighth grade to crafting art pieces inspired by the sands of Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
A Journey Fueled by Passion
From an early age, Mariam was drawn to colours and shapes, but she never followed a traditional path to learning art. Instead, she found her own way, letting creativity guide her. What began as a hobby soon became a defining part of her life, leading her to constantly explore and experiment with new artistic forms.
From Fashion to Fine Art
Her creativity was never confined to paper. In middle school, she launched a small business designing custom t-shirts and hoodies, bringing art into everyday life. Over time, she returned to painting, exploring portraiture and mastering the fine details of capturing human expression.
Transforming Sand Into Art
Every artist finds inspiration in something unique, and for Mariam, it was the sand of Al Ain and Al Dhafra. She developed a special material blending natural elements with artistic expression, using it to design furniture and decorative pieces that reflect the spirit of the UAE.
Abu Dhabi: A City that Nurtures Creativity
Mariam believes Abu Dhabi provides limitless support for artists, offering platforms to showcase their work through exhibitions and public art spaces. This environment allows art to thrive and connect with the wider community.
"Create Your Own Path"
For Mariam, art is more than a skill; it is a journey of self-discovery. She believes passion alone is not enough—initiative and persistence are key. Her advice to aspiring artists is simple: pick up your colors and start.
